S and I stayed at a fancy Sheraton in Times Square:
At night, we headed out to a delicious steak place, La Marais, for dinner--and the highlight was that I ate some dessert AND my blood sugar levels were fine! An exciting development in the life of a diabetic:) We then went to this funky theater in Midtown to see Million Dollar Quartet--S's pick, but I actually really liked it!
We topped off the night with some drinks at the bar (virgin over here):
The next day, we got off to a late start and then headed to brunch.
We rounded off the day with a Trader Joe's stop (I *love* that store. Although next time I go, I want to buy all of the English toffee bars I can see!)
So that was our staycation--probably the last babymoon before bunny arrives. Speaking of which, my due date is THREE weeks away. Eek!
Tell me--what is YOUR idea of a perfect staycation?
Note--giveaway winners posted below. Jenny, please email me by Sunday or I'll have to pick a new winner!
You look so beautiful. I hope that you are feeling as well as you look!!
ReplyDeleteSo glad that you guys enjoyed your time together. It is just so strange to know that couplehood really does change when parenthood begins.
My idea of a perfect staycation involves several massages, a lot of reading, and unlimited sleeping.
B'shaah tovah!!!
you guys are so cute! it looks like a great time!
ReplyDeleteLove the pics of you both. Sounds like you had a wonderful time. And 3 weeks!! That time has flown (probably not for you though)

ReplyDeleteactually right now i am on a 2 month staycation. i rented my house out and am staying in an apartment by the ocean. love everything except the part about not having my scrapbooking stuff.
ReplyDeleteI think that is awesome~would love to do that in my area!!! have a wonderful time!!
ReplyDeleteYou looks so happy! :)
ReplyDeleteAnd I have to say that I have learned, even after baby comes, make sure you have a few of those Staycations every once in a while.
They are good for everyone :)
Only three weeks away---that is exciting! I'm happy for you to have a little get-away before the baby comes. That is awesome!
ReplyDeleteI love staycations too! I love to travel, but sometimes it's nice to be a tourist in your own city and have a more relaxed vacation. Baby is coming soon!! Very exciting!! (I think I've stayed in that hotel - recognize the rug! :) )
ReplyDeleteLooks like a great trip!! Congrats on your bundle of joy coming up!
ReplyDeleteLooks like a great time and the perfect thing to do before baby arrives! I can't believe you only have three weeks to go!
ReplyDeletelooks like a great time!!
ReplyDeleteThey sell that Trader Joes English Toffee in big cans around the holidays!!I bought some too and being the best mom in the world I hide it from the kids and ate it all. It was totally worth it. :)
ReplyDeleteAnd p.s.my daugher came at exactly 37 weeks so you are good to go anytime!
ReplyDeleteMy DH and I go about an hour away to a B&B that has converted railroad cabooses and catch the local beer festival and sit in our rom and play computer games (we are total geeks)...well, we did a little hiking too! LOL! Ever since our first baby, we have tried to get at least one date night a month, and one overnight alone a year. Good luck waiting on bunny! Thanks for the peek at your staycation! -Amanda
ReplyDeleteperfect staycation - hmm, I don't think I really have one, since we live in the middle of no where. There is a themed hotel about 45 minutes away that I think would be hilarious to stay in but Ryan vetoed that idea. It creeps him out.
ReplyDeleteMy staycation was significantly less exciting than yours :) No big apple for us here at the mini apple area :) I went to the YMCA everyday, that has to count right? :)
ReplyDeleteLooks and sounds like you had a wonderful staycation :)
ReplyDeleteAny time hubby cooks is a great staycation for me...I'm easy to please, teehee.
Yay! Glad you got a trip in before baby comes:) Looks like fun! My perfect staycation would definitely be camping in the yard with the kids. So fun!
