I Am, I Am Not
A few weeks ago, I was feeling down on myself for the design teams I haven't made and the pages I haven't gotten published. So I reminded myself that I am NOT the number of pages I publish or cool little sidebars on my blog (which I have none of at the moment, as the redesign goes on, but in any case....).
So, in case I forgot this important fact again, I made this page to remind me:
This page mostly uses the Footpath add-on from Studio Calico's August kit, Summer Camp + some fabric I ordered from Hawthorne Threads. Since I'm new to experimenting with fabric, I ended up making a huge bubble, requiring 3D adhesive for the photo, but it all worked out in the end! It's also good to know that the random photos I take of myself when bored can end up being useful because they match add-on colors EXACTLY.
The next one is basically an attempt to use all my mists at once. I love Maya Mists, but I just don't use them often enough, so I went to town one day!
I used a sheet of Girl's Paperie chipboard letters as a mask and misted with Seafoam, Sunflower, and Pink (the pink grapefruit was in an uncooperative mood--unclear why). The title, which pretty much sums up what I wanted to say here, reads: Everything I Know, I Learned from a Book.
I'm about to head off to the Big City (ie, Manhattan) for (1) a doctor's appointment (stinker), and (2) various birthday fun with my guy.
Hope you have a wonderful day! What are your plans?

Great new LOs! Saw your card on the Ella blog yesterday. ;)
ReplyDeletethese are simply beautiful... and the kind of layouts that are my favorite. happy birthday :)
ReplyDeleteI like these!
ReplyDeleteI fall into the same scrapbooking-related funk every now and then. And then I go through the reminder process, of why it is I really do this. I love that you made a layout about it! I think your approach is brilliant and envy your use of photos of you. I need to start showing up on my projects.
ReplyDeleteI saw you on Ella yesterday :) and I love how you are using your current kit. I'm having a hard time with this one...
Is it your birthday?! If so, Happy Birthday!!
A-mazing. Love them. You know, I always try to remind myself that in 20 years my girls aren't going to care about design teams, and pubs. They're going to care that I documented our lives. It's easy to get caught up in the scrap world, but it's not real. :)
ReplyDeleteGreat layouts. I especially love what you did with the mist!
ReplyDeletelove the layouts. Happy Birthday!
ReplyDeleteenjoy your day : )
great layouts!
ReplyDeleteAwesome pages as always. And you're totally right! It's not about the published pages or the design teams. It's about telling your story & preserving them for years to come. You ROCK @ what you do, so don't forget that! :0)
ReplyDeleteAll your layouts are amazing. I really need to try out the misting craze, I guess I'm a little late! Adore the way you reversed out the alpha's!
ReplyDeleteAdorable layouts! Have a fantastic birthday!
ReplyDeleteI love these layouts! I need to mist like that more often.
ReplyDeleteThese are great! I especially LOVE that second layout. I SO know what it's like to be down about not making design teams...it's rough sometimes...you just gotta hang in there and keep trying. :)
ReplyDeleteLoving the misting here :) And you are SO very right---doesn't matter at all the pages pubbed or dt's made (although it stinks when you don't make them!! Believe me I KNOW!!) I just had 2 dt's end over the past 6 months and I thought.."what am I going to do now?!" Just gotta remember to do what you love..the documenting, the recording, the creating!! And I am thinking a happy birthday is on order to you ;D
ReplyDeleteHave a beautiful day!!
Fantastic layouts....I think those design teams don't know what they're missing. ;)
ReplyDeleteGreat pages! Love your hardcore play with mists!
ReplyDeleteWell, if you ever wanna talk about design teams not made, lol, I bet I have you beat by a LONG LONG list, lol.
